Progressive Billing and Retention

Strike completed work and close out cleanly

Closing out (strike, unstrike, close out, and release retention are all covered above) marks the bid done and strikes every remaining open line at once; no jobs or invoices are created by it. Retention is never released automatically, even after the last production invoice, so confirm the contract’s release conditions (final inspection, punch completion, required closeout documents) before you bill it.

  1. Close out the bid once every remaining section is billed, struck, or accounted for.

Billing ledger: Close Out Bid, which strikes every remaining open line at once.
