Migrating Data from Another Tool

Switching from Housecall Pro, Jobber, ServiceTitan, Field Pulse, QuickBooks, or a spreadsheet. Four ways in, plus free migration support.

Updated May 3, 2026 · 6 min read · For Owner

Switching contractor software is the number one reason businesses stay on a platform that’s costing them money. Conduit makes the switch painless. There are four ways to bring your data in, plus a fifth path: book a call and we move it for you, free.

Each tab covers one path. Pick whichever fits your situation.

01Open the import wizard

Settings → Import Data. Four cards appear, one per import path.

  1. Import from Another Tool. Direct platform-to-platform migration. Conduit pulls your data via API or OAuth.
  2. Customers. Upload a CSV or Excel file of customers.
  3. Price List. Upload a CSV or Excel file of pricebook items.
  4. Scan Handwritten List. Photo of paper, AI extraction.

02Migrate from another platform

Coming from Housecall Pro, Jobber, ServiceTitan, Field Pulse, or QuickBooks? The platform migration is the fastest path.

  1. Click Import from Another Tool from the Settings → Import Data chooser. Conduit launches a 5-step wizard.
  2. Select Provider. Pick your current platform from the list. Each tile shows how many data types it pulls and whether the connection uses an API key or OAuth.
Select Provider step with five platform tiles
Step 1 of the wizard: pick the tool you are coming from. FieldPulse, Housecall Pro, Jobber, QuickBooks Online, and ServiceTitan are supported.
  1. Connect. OAuth or API key, depending on the provider. OAuth opens a popup where you log into your existing account; API key flows ask you to paste a key from your old platform’s settings. No passwords are shared with Conduit.
Connect to Jobber step with OAuth handoff
Step 2 (Connect). For OAuth-based providers like Jobber, click Connect and a popup opens for you to log in. For API-key providers (FieldPulse, Housecall Pro), paste your key here instead.
  1. Pull Data. Conduit fetches customers, contacts, pricing, and any other data the source exposes. You see a progress indicator.
  2. Preview. See everything before anything imports. Deselect rows you don’t want.
  3. Import. Confirm and the data lands in your Conduit account in seconds.

The original account stays untouched, so if anything looks wrong you have a fallback to compare against.

03CSV or Excel import

For customers and pricebook items, a spreadsheet is the most reliable format.

  1. Click Customers (or Price List).
  2. Upload your file. Drop or click to browse. CSV, XLSX, and XLS all work.
  3. Map columns. Conduit detects column headers and pre-fills its best guess for each field. Adjust as needed.
  4. Preview. Spot-check rows for issues before importing.
  5. Confirm. Records land in seconds.
CSV upload step inside the import wizard
Step 2 of the wizard: drop or browse for your spreadsheet. Step 3 (Map Columns) and step 4 (Results) follow.

Customer fields available: name, email, phone, address, city, state, zip, company, type (residential / commercial / property manager), notes, lead source, tags, primary technician.

Price List fields available: name, description, unit (each / hour / foot / sq ft / day / per job), price, cost, category, image URL.

04Photo-scan a handwritten list

If your leads live on paper (handwritten lists from a trade show, clipboard from a job site, sticky-note pile), use the photo scan.

  1. Settings → Import Data → Scan Handwritten List.
  2. Take a photo or upload one. Phone camera works fine; rear camera with good light is best.
  3. AI extraction. The OCR reads the handwriting and pulls names, phone numbers, and addresses into a review table.
  4. Review every row. Bad handwriting and unusual spellings can trip the OCR. Always check before importing.
  5. Import. Confirm and the records land alongside your other customers.

It handles messy handwriting better than you would expect, but it is not magic. Treat it as a starting point.

05Read the import results

Every import ends with a summary screen.

  1. Imported. Green count of records that landed cleanly.
  2. Skipped. Amber count of records that did not import. Each skipped row shows the row number and the reason.
  3. Common skip reasons: missing required field, duplicate email, malformed phone, invalid date.
  4. Re-import. Fix the skipped rows in your source file and re-import just those. Records already imported are not affected.

The clean rows are immediately available everywhere they belong (customer list, pricebook, etc.).

06Or, let us do it for you (free)

How it works:

  2. We schedule a 30-minute screen-share.
