Review AI takeoff proposals

Lesson 13 of 27 · Bids & Takeoff

Use Generate takeoff in Sections, or on the AI takeoff tab before a plan’s first takeoff, then choose Entire plan set, Selected sections, or Page ranges and confirm the displayed pages. Every new Generate action starts a fresh run. On a full run, pages with readable sheet identifiers are grouped into sections when the document has no sections; existing sections stay unchanged. Pages without a confident section remain under Other pages.

The AI takeoff tab shows the animation, current operation and page, an estimated progress bar, and a rough duration when comparable completed runs are available. These estimates describe processing work, not verified quantities. You can navigate away: the background run continues. Return to see its latest progress, or cancel while it is running.

When it finishes, choose Review takeoff or Generate bid. Review expands by section, then page; clicking a page opens that drawing. Every selected page appears, including pages with no proposals or incomplete processing. Each item has Accept, Reject, and Edit details. Open its source to inspect the drawing. Save edits with the review decision before generating a bid. Count proposals based on schedules can have their stated count corrected. Length and area proposals still require a verified scale covering their full geometry.

Generate bid automatically accepts untouched eligible proposals. Rejections and saved human edits stay intact; edited pending items need review. Accepting an unresolved drawing scope does not make it priceable: choose new, existing, demolition, or alternate in review, or address the resulting bid task. Map accepted items to company prices, preview the draft, and address or acknowledge its remaining tasks before applying. Partial results do not establish a complete plan quantity. Manual takeoff remains available for missing work.

If processing fails or is cancelled, Retry processing retries that run while attempts remain. Starting from Generate takeoff creates a separate run and preserves the earlier history. A new attempt does not guarantee that unsupported drawing content can be recognized.

  4. Generate after reviewing the selected pages.
  5. Choose Review takeoff, expand its section and page, then open an item's source.
  6. Expand Edit details and correct the item's classification.
  7. Accept the corrected proposal.
  8. Open manual takeoff as a fallback.
