In the company price list, open an item and enter only the specifications you have confirmed for that catalog choice. Equipment profiles can hold rating, voltage, and phase. Connection material profiles can hold conductor and conduit details. Empty fields are omitted. The form checks whole-number ratings and the supported voltage, conduit, and conductor formats before saving. An item with no confirmed profile remains usable in ordinary manual bids, but cannot prove a schematic specification match.
Clearing is explicit: choose Clear saved specifications, then save. If someone changes a profile while you edit, the editor preserves your draft and shows the newly saved profile. Choose Use latest values to adopt theirs, or Save my edits over latest to submit your draft against the refreshed digest. A failed save does not complete a lesson step.
An assembly rule uses company catalog items, quantities per input, waste percentages, and an optional confirmed specification profile. In this practice exercise, version 1 uses quantity 2, waste 5%, and a 100 A equipment profile. Version 2 changes those values to 3, 10%, and 175 A. Reopen version 1 to see that its original component rule and 100 A profile remain intact. Catalog values and matching do not certify that an AI takeoff found every object, that a schematic line establishes physical length, or that a bid is complete. The estimator still reviews source evidence, quantity, pricing, and unresolved scope.
This lesson uses simulated company items in the real price list, item editor, and assembly editor. It writes nothing to a live catalog.
- Open the sample equipment item.
- Save a confirmed equipment rating, leaving other fields blank.
- Reopen the item to check the saved profile.
- Explicitly clear and save the profile.
- Open the sample connection material item.
- Save confirmed conduit and conductor details.
- See a stale edit while retaining your draft.
- Compare and use the newer saved profile.
- Resolve another conflict by explicitly saving your edits.
- Create an assembly with a company component, quantity 2, waste 5%, and a 100 A equipment profile.
- Create version 2 with quantity 3, waste 10%, and a 175 A profile.
- Reopen version 1 and check its original quantity, waste, and 100 A profile.
